CNPA Services Inc.

CNPA Services, Inc. (CSI) was established in July 1992 to accommodate an emphasis on entrepreneurial ventures. CSI is a wholly owned, for-profit subsidiary of the nonprofit corporation, California Newspaper Publishers Association (CNPA). Under the dual structure, the nonprofit corporation, CNPA, owns all shares of CSI and has all of the rights that come with ownership. All Association members receive CNPAs traditional member services through a contract with CSI, and CNPA is provided with the mechanism to reap the maximum benefit of its entrepreneurial efforts by eliminating the tax on "unrelated business income," which occurs when profit is generated in a nonprofit corporation.

Cal Press Foundation

The Cal Press Foundation is a nonprofit corporation organized in October 1993 to raise funds through tax deductible contributions for internships and other journalism education activities.
